Installation requirements and precautions for plug in electromagnetic flowmeter

2023-09-06

Accurate measurement requires the selection of the correct instrument. The quality of the instrument is the main thing. The second is to consider the installation requirements. If the installation is not standardized, the role of the instrument cannot be fully utilized. Therefore, we must pay attention to the installation of the flowmeter.

The following technicians from Henan Wesdom Flow Control will introduce to you the installation requirements and precautions of the plug-in electromagnetic flowmeter:

1. Plug-in electromagnetic flowmeters should be kept away from equipment with strong electromagnetic fields;

Installation requirements and precautions for plug-in electromagnetic flowmeter:

2. There should be no strong vibration in the installation site, the pipeline is fixed firmly, and the ambient temperature does not change much;

3. The installation position must ensure that the pipeline is always filled with the fluid to be measured. The length of the straight pipe section on the upstream side of the sensor installation pipeline is greater than 8D, and the length of the straight pipe section on the downstream side is not less than 5D;

4. Clean up the welding slag and burrs on the installation base of the tested tube;

5. Install the DN80 ball valve on the installation base, pay attention to the long cavity of the ball valve upwards, and check that the ball valve switch is normal; install the compression threaded seat kit on the ball valve, loosen the positioning screw and compression nut, and insert the sensor insertion rod through the ball valve The pipeline under test.

The insertion depth of the sensor is 3mm outside the base. After meeting the requirements, tighten the positioning screw and compression nut. Also note that the sensor direction mark is consistent with the fluid flow direction.

6. The opening of the pipe under test is larger than the base pipe, and the depth of the base pipe inserted into the opening of the pipe under test is equal to the welding joints on both sides;

7. The plug-in electromagnetic flowmeter is flat-welded with stainless steel electrodes, and the flange surface is guaranteed to be parallel to the pipe axis after welding;

8. According to the instruction manual of the plug-in electromagnetic flowmeter, connect the power supply and other connections with the converter standard meter. After power on, check the display of the meter to confirm that the measured tube is filled with fluid and the flow rate is zero, and the display of the meter should be zero. ;

9. After the fluid in the tube under test flows and is stable, check the instrument display, then turn the direction of the sensor to maximize the display value, and lock the positioning screw and compression nut;

10. For occasions where the flow range is large and the fluid velocity is lower than the minimum flow velocity required by the flowmeter for a long time, it should be considered to reduce the process pipeline or use two flowmeters installed in parallel, one large and one small;

11. The plug-in electromagnetic flowmeter should be installed on the vertical process pipeline like the ordinary electromagnetic flowmeter, so as to prevent the suspended solid from sinking on the electrode, and at the same time make the oil in the fluid rise beyond the measurement range of the electrode. If the flowmeter is installed on the horizontal process pipeline, the electrode of the sensor should be on the horizontal axis to avoid the interference of the electrode due to air bubbles, resulting in measurement errors;

12. Vertical installation. When the sensor is inserted into the pipeline, the angle between the sensor and the vertical diameter of the pipeline section should be less than 5°, which is suitable for measuring clean media with small pipeline vibration;

13. Inclined installation, the angle between the axis of the sensor and the axis of the pipe under test is 45°, suitable for liquid flow measurement with large pipe diameter and other impurities in the measurement medium, this installation method has small water resistance and is not suitable for entanglement.
