What is a triple eccentric butterfly valve?

The shaft center of the valve stem deviates from the center of the disc and the center of the body at the same time, and the axis of rotation of the valve seat and the axis of the valve body channel have a certain angle, which is called a triple eccentric butterfly valve.
Double eccentric butterfly valve must use hard seal for high temperature resistance, but the leakage is large; for zero leakage, soft seal must be used, but it is not resistant to high temperature. In order to overcome the contradiction of the double eccentric butterfly valve, the butterfly valve was eccentric for the third time. Its structural feature is that while the double eccentric valve stem is eccentric, the conical axis of the disc sealing surface is inclined to the cylinder axis of the body, that is to say, after the third eccentricity, the sealing section of the disc does not change. Then it is a true circle, but an ellipse, and the shape of its sealing surface is also asymmetrical, one side is inclined to the center line of the body, and the other side is parallel to the center line of the body.
The biggest feature of this third eccentricity is that the sealing structure is fundamentally changed, it is no longer a position seal, but a torsion seal, that is, it does not rely on the elastic deformation of the valve seat, but completely relies on the contact surface pressure of the valve seat to achieve sealing Therefore, the problem of zero leakage of the metal valve seat is solved in one fell swoop, and because the contact surface pressure is proportional to the medium pressure, the high pressure and high temperature resistance is also solved.
What are the three eccentric butterfly valve sealing rings?
Commonly used triple eccentric butterfly valve sealing ring has three forms: PTFE/EPDM soft seal, multi-layer seal and metal seal.
PTFE sealing ring, used in the environment where the temperature is less than 180℃ and the pressure is less than 2.5Mpa. The multi-layer metal sealing ring has good sealing performance and can achieve zero leakage. It is suitable for pure liquid or gas with low medium flow rate and no particles. And the use temperature is generally limited by the use of multi-layer sealants not exceeding 300 ℃. The overall metal seal is used in high temperature and high pressure working environment.
Teflon sealing ring
The ring is used in an environment where the temperature is less than 180°C and the pressure is less than 2.5Mpa. API specification
As we all know, API609 has become the de facto international specification for valves used on important industrial pipelines. Double security structure
Tritec strictly follows the specifications of API609, in order to prevent the disc deformation, valve stem dislocation, and sealing surface occlusion caused by the influence of fluid pressure and temperature, two independent thrust rings are installed on the upper and lower sides of the disc, respectively. So as to ensure the normal operation of the valve under any working conditions.
At the same time, in order to prevent unexpected accidents caused by valve stem damage and flying out caused by unknown reasons, independent valve stem flying out prevention mechanisms are designed at the lower end of the valve and inside and outside, which also ensures the pressure level of Tritec from the side. Can do up to 2500 lb class.
No dead zone design
In the design process of Tritec, special consideration is given to the application in the field of regulation, and the sealing principle of the triple eccentric butterfly valve is fully utilized, so that the disc does not scratch the valve seat when the valve is switched on and off, and the torque of the valve stem is directly transmitted to the seal through the disc.
That is to say, there is almost no friction between the disc and the valve seat, thus eliminating the common jump phenomenon when opening ordinary valves, and eradicating the regulation caused by various unstable factors such as friction in the low opening range of the valve.
No phenomenon, that is, the dead zone (insensitive band) is eliminated, which means that Tritec can almost enter the controllable area from 0 opening to 90 opening, its normal control ratio is more than 2 times that of ordinary butterfly valves, and the control ratio is the highest Up to 100:1 or more. This creates good conditions for Tritec to be used as a control valve, especially when the diameter is large, the cost of the globe valve is extremely high, in addition, the globe valve cannot achieve zero leakage, in the case of emergency shutdown, it must be in the globe valve. A shut-off valve is installed on the side of the device, and Tritec integrates regulation and shut-off, and its economic benefits are extremely considerable.
Body seat structure
There are two seat installation structures for triple eccentric butterfly valves. Most of them are installed on the disc for convenience, but Tritec adopts the body seat structure and installs the valve seat on the body. The advantage is that compared with the butterfly plate valve seat, the opportunity for the valve seat to directly contact the medium is greatly reduced, thereby reducing the degree of erosion of the valve seat and prolonging the service life of the valve seat.
Replaceable seal pair
The sealing pair of Tritec is unique, not only the valve seat of the body can be replaced, but also because the sealing surface of the disc and the disc are independent, the sealing surface of the disc can also be replaced, that is to say, when the sealing surface of the disc is damaged, there is no need to replace it. It is only necessary to replace the sealing surface of the butterfly plate, which not only greatly reduces the maintenance cost, but also greatly reduces the maintenance man-hours and the strength and difficulty of the maintenance.
Balanced fixed structure
Starting from the shape characteristics of the sealing surface of the triple eccentric butterfly valve, the fixing method of the sealing pair of Tritec adopts the oval distribution of bolts, which is not only accurate in positioning, but also makes each bolt evenly stressed, eliminating the occurrence of uneven stress distribution.
