What is a Steam Trap?

It is suitable for the discharge and recovery of any condensation water on steam pipeline.

Working principle:

Free float traps are continuous discharge. When the equipment is just started to work, the air in the pipeline is discharged through the automatic air exhaust device, the low-temperature condensed water enters the trap, the liquid level of the condensed water rises, the floating ball rises, the valve opens, and the condensed water is quickly discharged.

Precautions for installation:

a. Before installation and use, the pipeline must be purged with pressure gas to remove dirt, dust, sundries, etc.

b. The steam trap valve should be installed at the lower position of the steam pipeline, and a stainer and globe valve should be installed in front of the valve.

Bypass valve and check valve should be installed after the steam trap. If the condensed water discharged directly after steam trap, then there is no need to install any valves or piping after the steam trap.

c. The installation direction of the medium flow must be consistent with the direction marked on the steam trap, and the installation should be basically horizontal.

d. Pay attention to the installation of the valve to be in a horizontal position, which refers to the level and vertical of the valve body itself, and no tilting,upside down etc.

e. The water outlet pipe of the steam trap should not be immersed in water.

f. Each piece of equipment should be installed with its own steam trap.

g. If there is condensed water recovery after the trap, the outlet pipe of the trap should be connected to the main pipe from the top of the recovery main pipe to reduce back pressure and prevent backflow.

h. If there is condensed water recovery after the steam trap, the pipelines with different pressure levels should be recovered separately

Maintenance:

Before any maintenance operation on the steam trap, ensure that the upstream and downstream pipelines have been cut off, and the pressure medium has been safely discharged to the atmosphere, and the pipeline and valve are cooled before operation.
