But some of our previous customers basically use butterfly valves, and if you need to replace them, it is recommended to replace the butterfly valves with flat gate valves or knife gate valves.

So why don't we recommend butterfly valve for over mud pipeline?

In principle, butterfly valves are not recommended for pipelines with mud. Whether soft-sealed or hard-sealed, the sealing cover of the valve will be damaged by the mud medium over time, leading to a decrease in the service life of the valve.

This problem can be avoided by using knife gate valves, which have a knife-like mud cutting effect on the edge of the disc. Material can choose carbon steel, ductile iron, gray cast iron, sealing surface available PTFE or carbide seal.
